In the Beginning

When Robby was in Junior High, he was my brother Chris's good friend. He was over at our house all the time and yet I do not remember him being there. I was, of course, worried about myself far too much. :-) Then as time went on, Robby's family moved to Twin Falls and Chris and him started hanging out with other friends. Robby continued to go to Murtaugh High School though. He said that he remembers seeing me the summer before my sophomore year in high school and thinking that I had grown up a lot.
My sophomore year / Robby's Senior year began with him and I in Mrs. Rapp's accounting class together with two other students. We were in different levels, yet enjoyed each other's company very much. I thought he was a great friend. Another girl liked Robby a lot at that time and I remember telling her that nothing would come about with Robby and I (even though we some-how began spending more and more time together). He began offering me a ride from early morning seminary to school and I began to get more leary of his interest. I was not ready for a boyfriend. Then he began bringing me chocolate covered strawberries to eat on our short ride from Seminary. That was the kicker, I have to admit.
This all occurred over the school-year so when spring rolled around I was anxious for an invite to Robby's Senior Prom even though we weren't officially a couple. I wondered if and how he would ask me because I knew he was not the "decorate a room" type of guy. He asked me in the perfect way. He drove the 45 miles from his house to mine; knocked on my door and asked for me. Then he simply asked me face to face if I would like to go to the prom with him. I was very impressed and of course said yes.
This account is all from memory, so when I get my journal out of storage next time we go to Burley, I will have to add actual content.
